Early Stage Researchers

Ana Filipa Mota is a PhD researcher in Departamento de Farmacología, Farmacia y Tecnología Farmacéutica, I+D Farma at University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. She is from Oporto, Portugal and graduated in Optometry and Vision Sciences from the University of Minho and received her MSc in Advanced Optometry from the same institution in 2017 and 2019, respectively. After finishing her master’s thesis, she continued her research activities on the impact of soft contact lenses specially designed for myopia control on the electrophysiological response of retina and accommodation at the Clinical and Experimental Optometry Research Lab (CEORLab).

Ana Filipa Mota is currently one of the Early Stage Researchers of the ORBITAL network and her research is focusing on the design and development of soft contact lenses for diabetic eye. She is confident that doing her PhD as an EU-funded MSCA-ITN fellow will open many doors for her professional career and a whole range of opportunities while she is working alongside researchers at the top of drug delivery.
