Early Stage Researchers

I am a licenced pharmacist from Spain with a BSc and MSc in Pharmacy from the University of Santiago de Compostela. I have previously worked on electrospun nanofibers and their suitability for drug delivery and regenerative medicine.
My current research combines an intersectoral work between the University of Parma and Nanovector s.r.L, both in Italy. Our aim is to gain a deeper insight into lipid-based nanocarriers (micro-/nanoemulsions, nanostructured lipid carriers, solid lipid nanocarriers) and their interplay with ocular structures by developing and optimizing a reliable ex-vivo model based on porcine eyes that mimics the physiology of human eye.

I had already enjoyed some of the possibilities the EU offers for our careers through an Erasmus+ Mobility at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität-München (DE) and an Erasmus+ Traineeship at Universitè de Lille (FR). Nonetheless, having the opportunity to complete a PhD programme within the ORBITAL International Training Network and participate on such a collaborative and international project is an amazing step in my career and I can only be thankful to the European Union’s Horizon2020 for this new opportunity.
